Should You Repair, Resurface, or Rebuild Your Existing Dock?

Whether your dock needs repairs, resurfacing, or rebuilding depends on where the deterioration is occurring and whether the underlying structure is still sound.

Repairs can make sense when damage is limited to specific components, such as individual boards or railings. Resurfacing may be appropriate when the decking is worn or deteriorated, but the supporting structure remains in suitable condition. Rebuilding may be the better option when deterioration is widespread or affects the underlying structure.

When Should You Install and Remove Your Dock for the Season?

In our area, seasonal docks are typically installed in April or May and removed in October, although exact timing depends on weather and ice conditions. Removing your dock before freeze-up helps protect it from shifting ice and winter damage.

We offer recurring seasonal installation and removal, including for floating docks, so you can have your dock put in each spring and safely out of the water before winter.
